As a test, I promoted a photo I posted on my Facebook professional page, Steven Brokaw Photography ( https://www.facebook.com/stevenbrokawphotography ). I wanted to see if spending some $$$ to "promote" the photo would get more views on the photo, a few additional "likes" and then more interaction.
Well, it seemed to accomplish part of the equation. My photos normally get between less than 50 to about 800 views. Understand, I don't have tons of people following my page so I understand the low viewership.
I paid $20 for a 1 day "promotion" of the above photo of model Kristen Grable. When I promoted the photo I had 62 views. Well, guess what, it is now my most viewed photo on my professional page. In one day it got 4,786 "paid reach" views. However, it only generated 3 new "likes". the main issue now is to see if the additional views translate to someone reaching out to me and asking me to work with them. Doubt it, but I wanted to give it a try.
So for $20 I got 4,786 views. Will that translate into anything? Not sure yet, but it was an interesting experiment.
